What is the Damage Protection Program?
Accidental damage from insureds does happen. Traditionally, this was managed via a security deposit or short-term rental damage insurance purchased by the policyholder. Both are cumbersome and often have big limitations in protection.
As a Sinistar host, you are automatically enrolled in our Damage Protection Program, which covers the cost of accidental property damage from the insured up to $2,000.
What does it cover?
- Property that has been physically damaged by the guest’s actions or omissions during their stay
- Accidental and intentional damage
- Lesser the cost to repair or replace a damaged item
- Pet damage
- Structural damage
- Labour costs
Examples include, but are not limited to:
- Indoor & outdoor furniture
- Carpet cleaning costs for stains
- Drywall repair
- Stolen items with a valid policy report
- Bikes, surfboards, kayaks, etc.

What does it mean for me as a host?
With our Damage Protection Program, your rental property is protected at all times, and you can securing earnings with coverage against unexpected damages.
- For bookings up to 10 nights in length, a Minimum Fee $34.00 plus tax is charged.
- For bookings longer than 10 nights, the applicable amount of nightly fees $3.40/night plus tax is charged.
How do I submit a damage notice?
You can simply submit a damage notice using this link online within 14 days of the policyholder’s departure.
